TGIF... another week almost down...

Soooo busy so this is going to be quick.

Food wise, doing great. Getting sorta bored with the chicken and egg whites but fortunately, I am able to change it up when I go out to eat and make healthy / clean choices ALWAYS for lunch and  for dinner I choke down the chicken and salad and veges. My snacks this week have mainly been apples and Greek yogurt. Not at the same time, but one or the other. Those are more carbs that I want at times, but work has been nuts and grabbing one or the other is easy.

I've been able to get into the gym all week but my best work outs have been my cardio. I've been so tired at night that I have been lacking a little mojo but I plan on making it up this weekend and hitting the weights hard. Next week, I am really going to get back on track with not mixing around my days and sticking to the plan. This week I mixed up my rest day because of a conflict, but I am still IN THE GYM.

The good news is my work pants are soooooo looooose. They are falling off of me, which is crazy in part because according to my measuring tape I haven't lost THAT many inches.

Ok.. crazy busy with work, holiday stuff, and now boys basketball. Gotta run. I will update this weekend. Sorta excited to take my weekly pic. I think I will see a difference. Also, I've been using tanning lotion religiously. A little color goes a looong way.

  1. Hey Vivianna! You busted me on the peppermint blossom FB post! Ha, Ha! Well, that’s pretty much how the diet portion of this 12 week journey is going for me. I’ve had my moments of weakness but at least I’m being extra conscientious! I started out fully committed to the diet and supplementation plan that Jamie Eason prescribes but it did not take long for me to also become sick of egg whites and chicken. So I am doing more beans, salads and hearty grains like quinoa as well as lots of salsa and other sauces to keep it flavorful. As for the omelets, I’ve taken to adding some FF Cottage Cheese to help it “go down”, LOL! Greek yogurt has also been my friend at snack time the past few weeks…
I can say, however, that working out with weights has been going great! I love being back in the gym instead of pounding out a run in the cold and dark morning hours. As hard as it is to go to bed early and wake up early, I have found that I get a much better workout first thing in the morning (5:00 AM on weekdays, 7:00 AM on weekends). I’m just not focused on the days when I’ve tried to work out at 9:00 or later; My mind whirls on the things I already did that day and the things I still have left to do after the workout, not to mention that I’m quite intimidated to do some of the free weight exercises when the gym is more populated. I waste time trying to find a good machine substitute for certain exercises for the “privacy screen” they provide! But I’m completely focused when I work out first thing in the morning. I did miss one day cuz I worked out my Legs too hard on day 15 and I was so sore that I could not walk normally or sit easily for 3 days! I had to skip the 2nd Leg day on day 18 just to recover. I think what "did me in" me was the walking dumbbell lunge sets and the single-leg dumbbell deadlifts. Today (day 22) was Leg day again and I eased up on the weights so as not to repeat my previous mistake. As for results, I have not lost any weight (see paragraph one of this comment!) but my clothes are looser and people are asking if I’ve lost weight so I’m definitely experiencing some changes…
Congrats on how well you are doing so far! And thanks for continuing to inspire and motivate me! Next time I see a cookie or sweet, or eyeball the kid’s cereal instead of making my omelet, I’ll remember that Santa is watching!
