Well, the bad news is I missed yesterday's work out. Despite being adamant about sticking to the plan I didn't make it to the gym. BUT THE GOOD NEWS IS... that my BFF was in town for business and was able to squeeze in a quick dinner with me before heading back to New Jersey. Perfectly valid excuse, however if I rewind my day, knowing that there was a possibility that we would be able to hook up after work I should have worked out in the morning since I already had a lunch appointment. I thought I would be able to work out from 5-6 then meet her at 7:30, but her meeting wrapped early so she was ready to go at 6. Since I am not a morning work out person, my goal for next week is to try and get one morning work out in and start to work that into my routine. Although, next week won't be a typical week because of Thanksgiving...
The other piece of good news is that diet wise I am doing great. Even last night, going to dinner at an awesome restaurant downtown with my bff I didn't have a single cocktail, I also didn't touch the bread on the table and ordered grilled Grouper and steamed veges with a small salad for dinner.
My BFF :: Sue :: can you believe this woman has 4 kids? She also has the best shoes! |
I don't regret it one single bit. I have known Sue since I was 5 and for years she lived on the East when I was on the West then when I moved East she moved West. She's the mother of 4. She is a bad-ass business woman, CPA, Triathlete and she is fighting the system to do everything possible to make sure her son who suffers from narcolepsy has the best care possible. She is truly an inspiration and a testament that you can have anything you are willing to fight for.
I miss her already.
Off to another lunch appointment... make it a great day!

Hey Viv! Sounds like you are on track and have good strategies to get the workouts in and stick to the diet. Good for you! As for me, I am so excited to be weight training again! It's been years since I've done much else besides run and not much of that either! So I'm doing Jamie Eason's Live Fit 12 week plan which calls for no cardio in the first phase (?). Shocking, right? Theory being Phase 1 is for muscle building and cardio can break down muscle for fuel...also, her diet plan calls for a ton of protein in phase 1. OMG. It takes me all morning to finish my 5 egg white scramble and by the time I'm done it's time for another meal. I'm never hungry and actually had to cut down on the portion sizes cuz I could not finish all the food. I was not cheating until my kids had a Thanksgiving feast at school. Hubby bought cinnamon rolls of which I ate one (two days in a row!). I was super sore after the first week of workouts. My triceps especially (what are triceps?! Forgot I had some.) But I feel great and can't wait tor week 2. I work out at 5 AM not because I love to but because after work is not possible with sports and homework and household chores. Besides, I don't like a crowded gym and I do feel good about my work out being the first thing I cross off my list each day. I took a few measurements last week but need to do the full body measure today...maybe one day I'll divulge the numbers but not anytime soon! Take care! Good luck this week! Oh and yeah, your friends' shoes rock!

DeleteI am going to look up the plans... again. It sounds like the one I am doing, but I def have 2 days of cardio in it. I don't follow her diet per say. I have one my trainer put together for me. It's similar but a little less protein. I am also having trouble choking down all the egg whites. LOL... I have to get to bed, but I wanted to respond. Thanks for your comments. Love it!
